Automation Technology
It’s Faster, Smarter, and Stronger
Remember that old adage, “Keep your friends close
and keep your enemies closer”? Whether you view it as
friend or foe, automation technology owns the future of
manufacturing, regardless of the product or scale, so we
might as well learn to pro昀椀t from it. Sounds like a simple
solution. Not so fast!
The Bonus
Employers who link up with FAME, report hitting the HR
trifecta: Age, Aptitude, and Attitude. They gain fresh, young
employees with lifetime career potential, the necessary
skills to compete in a modern workforce, and a positive,
persistent mindset.
Obstacle number one is the logarithmic rate at which
technology is evolving. Every year, new possibilities become
realities, and every new reality brings with it a need for
more sophisticated technicians to understand the latest
technologies.
Age: Graduates of the FAME program are young, with
their whole careers ahead of them. Most remain with
the company where they interned. Many go on to earn
engineering and technology degrees but return to the work
environment where they started.
Obstacle two is our aging work force. Not every employee
is interested in changing with the times, and let’s face it, not
every employee is capable of making those changes.
The Solution
FAME is a two-year earn-and-learn program that recruits
technology-oriented high school seniors and provides
them with an intensive two year Advanced Automation
Technology curriculum through Dallas College. FAME
combines a leading-edge academic education with on-thejob training at local manufacturers like you.
DCMA Business Journal
“Many of our longtime
employees began their careers
with us and we look forward to
the same extended relationship
with our FAME interns”
