“Next Gen provides connections to community
resources, allowing us to strengthen our workforce
pipeline,” said Roscoe Davis, Plastipak Site
Manager and DCMA Chairman.
Plastipak focuses on workforce development and
workplace excellence, creating training standards
for new hires and associates in new roles. Training
combines hands-on, online, audio-visual, and
written methods, while organizational changes
foster teamwork and clear career paths for
employees seeking advancement.
On the technology front, the company has
implemented AI-driven sensors on critical
production lines, enabling predictive maintenance
and preventing major downtime events.
Through his role with DCMA, Davis works with
peers and community leaders to expand education
and employment opportunities, supporting
a skilled workforce, stable employment, and
regional economic growth.
“Seeing talented students in local Career &
Technical Education (CTE) programs gives me
hope,” he said. “If we get more industry involved,
the future is bright.”
He emphasizes that manufacturers must adapt
to changing technology and training methods: “If
you’re not willing to change, you won’t survive.”
By combining workforce education, innovation
and community collaboration, Plastipak and
DCMA are ensuring North Texas manufacturers
are ready for the challenges and opportunities of
